A prayer vigil was held in Detroit for Soul icon Aretha Franklin.The AP, reported that Detroit city councilwoman JoAnn Watson organised a public prayer for the singer on Wednesday.
Franklin did not attend the vigil, but released a statement thanking the organisers.
The 68-year-old singer cancelled all her work commitments by doctor's orders until May due to an unspecified health issue.
Franklin is reportedly undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure on Thursday.
