CNN mistakenly reported that Morgan Freeman died.The respected news broadcast posted on Twitter the news on Thursday morning based on a widespread hoax on the site.
"Breaking News: actor Morgan Freeman has passed away in his Burbank home," they wrote.
Freeman's friend Peter Shankman responded: "Dear CNN: Morgan Freeman is still busy living. He's yet to get busy dying. Please confirm first."
The tweet was later removed and an apology was issued by CNN.
